My trip to Island Pond , Vermont

This past weekend my children and I drove 6 hours to Island POnd, Vermont. Near Canada, it is one of the tiniest, far removed from urban society, simplest, little towns I have ever seen. It was the birthplace of my paternal grandparents before they made their escape to Connecticut. The entire town is built around this pond that connects to a river that travels all the way to more northern Newport, Vermont. Natives, of which there are few are called "Ponders". The entire downtown area consisted of two motels, 1 gas station, 1 small grocery store, 1 breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant, 1 Chevy dealer/service station, 1 headstart facility, and the town hall. All of these businesses shared the same block. 1 side of the block faced the pond- one side of the block did not. However, I saw untouched nature there that is extinct in Connecticut. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I will post the pictures I took from the deck outside our motel room.
