Baseball Week 1

Hi everyone, I have been late posting. I chose baseball as my theme and haven't had many opportunities to get the pictures in. The season is getting on its way, next Saturday is opening day! I chose to post these in black and white. I like the dramatic effect it gives. I have some more to post from their first practice session.

Surreal portrait

This a surreal portrait of a bird lost in time. How did he get there?

Sunset on the lake awaiting the fireworks!

week 7 photos

Here are a few of my photos from the 4th and trips to the beach, as well as trip to Bermuda with their great country flower which they make perfume from.

Im probably the least creative. Im not sure what to call it but I actually like it so its posted up! Great summer mod! Good luck to everyone.

Finally Even and Check mate/Game over

Both of these images show that both battles are over. The first image ending in a tie and the second image symbolizes the ending of a challenge won in a peaceful and violent manner.

portraits

These are two photos I was finally able to snap of my mother. I am a day student who needed this class for my final 3 credits for my degree. If it was not for that I would not had have to take these photos of her. The second picture really captures her yelling at me for this, as she does not like pictures to be taken....She also does not know these are on the internet

Day at the Beach

Although, it took me some time to think about what image I wanted to create. This was actually a fun assignment.

Paris open air

The markets in Paris were so vibrant, but you have to plan on sharing your bread!

Notre Dame Cathedral

I have to admit my photo does not do justice to the stained glass of Notre Dame. It was several stories high and looks quite small in the picture. The arches below with the chandeliers on the right caught my attention to repetition.

Florence

The architecture in Florence was unlike any other we saw in Italy. The fine detail and soft colors were beautiful

I think the contrasting colors and mediums make this picture pop, while the one below of the French Riviera is attractive because it is monochromatic.

Surrealism Art

Hello Everyone,
This was an interesting assignment. I must say I was initially intimidated by the other work, but after thinking about my daily dream, I put this together! Keep your eyes on the prize, reach for the sky despite any overshadowing obstacle because those can be overcome and eventually we sail off blossoming even in the wind! I am working on creating other images to post onto my fotothing later on, so visit those, they'll be abstracts of some of the other many dreams I have!
Enjoy!

Just wanted to share...

Yesterday my husband and I were doing a scenic tour of the lower part of our state. I was struck by the beauty of not only the monuments, but the surrealism I found in one of the most historical cemeteries we have in CT. Imagine how surprised we were to find 2 baby deer in Mountain Grove cemetery while we were looking at the amazing collection of monuments and headstones of prominent figures in our state's history. Some of these pictures just needed to be shared with people!! And I thought, "Who would appreciate these more than my new digital photography friends!?!?" I also captured a video of the deer, but I don't have the best video editing software so I will refrain from posting that. If anyone has suggestions for decent, free video editing software, let me know!

Week 7 Surrrealist Aesthetic

End the War in Iraq

In this weeks assignment I felt as though I had to be creative while producing my "dream" images. I really enjoyed this assignment and had fun creating reality. I was limited to a few selections and could only do so much.I tried to be descriptive upon each image and I hope you like them. I would like you to just be honest in comments, and I hope you like the images.

"Big Papi" David Ortiz

I see other people sharing their experiences here in
this photo blog. Here's two pictures I took 07/12/09
at Fenway. This is "Big Papi" in two action shots. It's
easy to see the ball in the top photo, but if you look
above the "D" in the background (safe + sound), you
can see the ball coming in there too! His bat broke
when he hit the ball in the second photo too!
GO SOX!!!

Okay everybody...........I figured it out! I actually really enjoy this kind of art. The backgrounds weren't for me... so I made my own! Hope you see what I see in these babies....

I attended the "Tall Ships Sail Boston" tour this weekend. The ships were from the 1600's thru the 1800's. I went on the narrated tour of the Boston Harbor where each of these ships were described and how they were a common site in the Boston Harbor bringing international trade.
This is one of my favorite shots, mainly because of the sky background. I know the sky isn't supposed to be part of the photo, but its the background in this photo and I believe it just adds to the photo.

boat ride NYC

It was very difficult to take photos on a bumpy boat ride. Still, there were nice ops. the statute of liberty obviously and some interesting mad made waterfalls. My favorite was the evening photo.
