So who would’ve thought that the digital portrait assignment would be so difficult? Aside from getting a cooperative subject (and yes, that’s my husband and I do believe our vows included sitting for digital portraits at my whim), creating the theme can be quite the challenge. I decided to try and recapture the feel of a picture I took of him last year by candle light (see my fotothing account). This time I tried to use a bonfire but it was too hot to get close enough to have enough light on my subject. So, we moved to candle light pictures. Because getting
lower light shots with my camera is tricky, I needed to take loads of pictures. Most of them had a blur to them, but I was able to get a handful of great shots (at least in my opinion). I had a great subject to work with! His red hair gets picked up by the fire light and makes him glow. So aside from the mosquito feeding frenzy on our ankles, we both enjoyed the photo shoot!
