The Digital Portrait

I think to capture an open, truthful expression is the hardest thing for me especially taking the pictures by the window and using a white cardboard to reflect light. I took alot of potraits which i have to admit that i was not very pleased with with. My girlfriend had a few of her friends over and i took advantage of using them to pause for the portraits. This is a great challege for me and am going to keep taking portraits untill i get better. Most of the pictures had too much light reflecting on them as you can see, Itried to reduse some light.

A couple more Macro Pics

FOCUS

I had some fun with this project. It was a little difficult trying to focus in on the image.

New Work..Shadows/Light, Buildings & The Beach ...Macro edits to come...

Hello,
Finally able to update and take some pictures! While I am trying to get a better handle on the diversty of photo taking, its still enjoyable and interesting. Looking at things with a creative eye and with an angle actually helps the shot! I still enjoy portrait pics the most! :-) I've browsed the blog and I see a lot of creativity. There are a lot of amazing looking photos and I enjoyed all of them. The flowers almost seem unreal to me and I am eager to explore a garden!
Well I hope this work is better than my last, practice will eventually make perfect. So thank all of you for sharing your creative work and here's mine. Also visit my fotothing there's more, these are just a few of my favs...and here's a link to pics uploaded onto my picasa web.

OLD New England

I'm continuing my old New England photos and really enjoying traipsing all over for photos. The photos are from the 1840 era. Note the stagecoach... hard to believe, but it is a 9 passenger!! After sitting inside it, it looks like it would be verrry cramped for 4 adults, glad I wasn't one of those 9 passengers that traveled this way!! It only took a "mere" 12 hours to travel from Hartford to Worcester this way!!
isn't this a portrait , too???????

The rain bubbles on this flower that have been captured from the macro setting is amazing. I love the it!

I took this just as it began to rain. This is a gerber daisy. I love the look of the rain drop on the petals. It took me a while to figure out the macro setting on my camera, but when I did I loved it!

This was definitely a trying project this week...trying to get items in focus was a challenge but interesting.... Amazing the things you can find when really looking up close at things and trying to zoom in. I was able to capture a few shots this week and do some editing in photoshop...mostly flowers which were around the yard. I also posted a picture of this interesting bug I found. It was on a white flower and its contrasting colors of yellow and black I found interesting. These little creatures I have found to have unique and create coloring; however, some of them were really difficult to get clear focus. Other photos will be/have been posted on fotothing.com
