My Summer Vacation

Good Evening,

My name is Elizabeth Pisano and I am excited about Digital Photography II. I learned a great deal in the first class and look forward to going a step further, still. Picasa 3 was a very easy tool for the class and I thought maybe I would try my hand at Photoshop for this mod. Wish me luck.

My 15 year old daughter, Katie, and I will be travelling to Europe this month on vacation. My family and I also will be filling our days with summer day trips around New England or just relaxing in the yard during this mod. This leads me to the theme of "My Summer Vacation," for the course. I will be posting pictures weekly of my leisure events, some of the fantastic art and scenery of Europe and some of the local beaches and ballparks, and some of my own backyard.

Tamika Mitchell

Hello everyone,

My name is Tamika Mitchell I am married, with two children ages 7 and 13. I am a full time employee at The Hartford Insurance Company. Upon completion of this course, I will finally have my B.S. degree in Business Management.

I have very little experience with digital cameras, which is why I am excited about this course and eager to learn more about photography. Although, I have limited experience-taking photos,
I love having my picture taken (especially, when my hair is done).

I look forward to reading more about all of you!

Art, in general, is imposible for me to escape.

Hi class,
My name is John. I see here in the blogs section that I recognize at least one face..."Hi Jackie". I'm glad to be a part of this class. I have owned a digital camera for years and never really learned how to use it...lol!
I am 33yrs old and I live in New Haven. As you can see, I play music. Music is my primary focus, but drawing, painting, and NOW photography are of interest to me. I feel strongly about having a "thing" of my own; it's very fulfilling.
This is my 3rd MOD here at Albertus. In a nutshell, I transferred credits and hope to graduate in May of 2010.

Jumping in head first...

Hi everyone,

This is my new version of "picture in picture" (hubby and myself). In looking at these blogs, it seems that we have natural artists in our group....I've decided to take digital photography to finally learn a thing or two about my digitial camera that gets more usage from my kids than I do (...and I own it!). I am a happily married, 41 year old mother of two teenagers. My goal is to show my kids that an education is essential in today's world. I have decided to take an opportunity offered to me to return to school to pursue my Associates with an HR Certification, after being laid-off about 6 months ago. This class is definitely something different. I look forward to the learning experience and the opportunity to view your masterpieces. Till our next blog, Darlene

Hi Everyone,

OK, so here's my self-portrait. Might try some others with outdoor light. Hope all is well with everyone.

Hello everyone

My name is Hilmy, I took digital photography because I want to learn and get better in taking pictures, editing and much more. I have always owned a digital camera but I have to admit that I have never really put a good use to it. I am very excited about this class and hopefully when am done, I will have the experience and a collection of different pictures.

The Blog

Hi, Its Nakeisha....
I just realized and noticed that instead of posting onto this this MOD 5 Blogger, I created my own MOD 5 BLOG. There is my intro and picture. I guess I'll try to move or re-upload later!
See ya!
Keisha

PS...UPDATED....up close and personal! I also was able to figure out how to get this in black & white and sepia from the camera. This one is just natural. I'll upload other images to my fotothing portfolio! ENJOY

Amra at home

Hello everybody,
My name is Amra Omerovic. I'm the one that will argue that disposible cameras were the best invention. I don't like to complicate things and with the look of this digital camera, I'm in trouble. I've already posted a separate blog instead of adding to the Mod 5 one. I'm sure that by the end of this mod I will be able to be fluent with the blog, the camera and this online coursework. Look forward to this experience (nightmare). Amra

Hi All, My name is Pamela. I am taking this class as part of my Studio Art requirement. I am a Junior working toward a degree in Art Education. I have two boys ages 9 and 12, a husband, and a dog named Charlie. I am surrounded by boys! My sons are both active in sports, so I like to take a lot of action shots. I haven't really taken the time to learn how to use my camera properly, I'm hoping this class will force me to do that and become a better photographer!

Greetings everyone

Hello,

My name is Robin and this is my last course before I graduate with my degree in business. I'm very excited about completing my degree and moving on. Its been 4 long years and the light at the tunnel is getting brighter!!
I'm looking forward to this course. I learned a lot from Digital Photography I and am anxious to see what this course offers.

Attached is a photo of my daughter and me in Boston on a whale watching trip.

I am Julie-Ann Sarandrea and also I am new to photography. I am still trying to learn how to download my pics. Once I finish this class I will have completed my BS in Management. Looking forward to learning the art of taking photos, because I am really bad at it.

SEE!!

What a novice!!!!!!!!!!!

The truth of the matter really is... I hate taking pictures of myself...
Hi all!

My name is Michelle. I'm new to photography and I'm sure that's obvious based on my profile picture. I'm eager to learn. I have an eye for art, but capturing it on film is another story!

I've been at AMC for 2 years now and I'm in my senior year. I'm looking forward to taking studio art courses since I have been considering a Master's degree in Art Therapy. Right now, for me life is busy and quite stressful working two jobs and being a full-time student, which, I'm sure is the case for most of us.... so learning to channel some of this stress into creative expression could certainly make for some interesting art!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

--Michelle

Hello!

Hi my name is Julie Laudano....I am a full-time mom to my first grade daughter as well a full-time marketing employee for Honeywell.

Upon completion of this class, I will finally graduate Albertus with my B.S. degree in Management. I am thrilled that this long journey is coming to end and value the education I have gained.

I'm really excited to take this class and learn about digital photography. Surprisingly, I just received a new digital camera the day of graduation (I was lucky to participate in the ceremony) so I'm anxious to really utilize it.

I look forward to reading about all of you.

Playing around

Hi everyone - I'm just playing around and trying to figure this out. Hope this works - Picasa3 is very COOL and addictive.

Hello Everyone - Week 1

Greetings everyone! My name is Joyce Fox. I am a Communications Major, scheduled for graduation 2011!!! I am 42 years young and live with my fiancée' Brian and our four "kids" - of the four legged variety. All rescue animals (of which I am a strong advocate - there is nothing like the love of a stray) - Sophia, our fearless guard dog, rules the roost and loves to sing with "The Stones", and Billy, Bailey and Stanley, our fearless attack cats - always sleeping on the job. We recently purchased an amazing home (our first!), in Huntington. It is 270 year old Dutch colonial and as you might imagine, it needs a ton of work. Last year, I won a digital camera through a raffle at work. Before that, my experience was limited to the innovation of the fabulous disposable camera. I like to think I am a pretty creative person and that I take a decent picture, but really, I have no clue what I am doing with this camera and I want desperately to improve my skills. I LOVE to take pictures of the "kids" and especially the house and the work we are doing. I want very much to document our progress. That said, I am really looking forward to this class, improving my technique, learning NEW tricks and having a blast. My picture is soon to follow.

Welcome to Mod 5 Digital Photography!

To get things started, let me tell you a bit about myself.... I have been teaching full time at Albertus Magnus College for the past 29 years and am grateful for the opportunity to spend my life working with students who want to learn more about art. I've been married for the past 34 years, and have 2 wonderful sons, 26 and 29. My older son is married and has an almost 2 year old son. That's Kieran and me at the window in our house recently...  We were blessed to have another grandson born this past Monday!  For now, everyone is together at our house so we are doubly blessed.....

My main interest is photography and I earned an M.F.A. in still photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. At Albertus I teach not only Photography but a range of other courses which include Digital Photography both online and face to face, Foundation Design (2-D and 3-D), Graphic Design, Ceramics, Intro to Computer Art, 20th Century Art History and  The Museum Experience.

To learn more about me, take a look around at my web site, http://jnevins.com. You can find a statement of my teaching philosophy (very student centered), syllabi from my other classes, a resume (called a Curriculum Vita in academic circles), tutorials on digital photography issues, portfolios of my work and more.

I look forward to working with you!
